We decided to head north for our coffee this week, which is how we ended up at Ellipsis in Edgewater. Luckily, we got there before the afternoon crowd, and we grabbed two stools in the window - our favorite spot. The brick walls, wood tables and warm paint colors all added to the comfort of the big open space.
After sitting there for a while enjoying our lattes, the head barista, Christian, came over and introduced himself. He was curious as to what we were doing with our photos. Once we told him about our project-turned-blog, he was excited to tell us about Indie Coffee Passport and also suggested other coffee shops in the area. He let us know that the roaster they use, Counter Culture, has a free cupping event every Friday at their training center, and it's open to the public. Meeting people at our weekly coffee shops is always one of my favorite parts of the weekend. It's nice to know that so many people share in the same interests as us, but it's also a reminder of the kindness surrounding us in the city.
